Thank you for learning with The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network Education hub (SCHN Education hub).

The SCHN Education hub ("we") offers products and services produced and delivered by The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our website (schneducation.com.au), learning platform (learning.schp.org.au) and other services. As some of our Services may be software that is accessed by your computer, phone, tablet or other device, you agree that we may automatically update this software, and that these Terms will apply to such updates. Please read these Terms carefully, and contact us if you have any questions, requests for information, or complaints. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, including the policies referenced in these Terms.

Content Offerings

We offer courses and content (“Content Offerings”) from departments and other providers (“Content Providers”). While we seek to provide best-evidence and current practice education from our Content Providers, unexpected events do occur. We reserve the right to cancel, interrupt, reschedule or modify any Content Offerings, either solely or in accordance with Content Provider instructions.

User Content

Content offerings may require you to submit your content, such as written and verbal assessment tasks, quizzes, projects and other assignments you submit, posts you make in the forums (“User Content”) on the SCHN Learning Platform. You retain all intellectual property rights in, and are responsible for the content you create and share.

How SCHP may use User Content

To the extent that you provide User Content, you grant us a right to authorise us and Content Providers to share User Content with registered learners and/or prospective learners of the Service. However, please note that we commit to respecting your intent to use the content solely for sharing with other learners. We will take steps to seek consent from you, de-identify and handle the material with sensitivity, and only share content with other learners of the Service.

Feedback

We welcome your suggestions, ideas, comments, and other feedback regarding the Services ("Feedback"). By submitting any Feedback, you grant us the right to use the Feedback without any restriction or any compensation to you. By accepting your Feedback, we do not waive any rights to use similar or related Feedback previously known to the Education hub, developed by our employees, or obtained from other sources.

The SCHN Learning Platform

Welcome to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Learning Platform. These terms and conditions govern your use of the platform and its associated services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using the platform.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

a. These terms and conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the SCHN online learning platform.

b. You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of a minor to use the platform.

c. By accessing or using the platform, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

  1. User Accounts

a. To use certain features of the platform, you are required to create a user account.

b. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and are liable for all activities that occur under your account.

c. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.

d. You agree not to share your account credentials with any third party and to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

  1. Platform Usage

a. The platform provides access to online courses, educational materials, and related services.

b. You may use the platform and its content solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

c. Participants shall not attempt unauthorised access to the platform or share their login credentials with unauthorised individuals.

d. All information and materials provided through the SCHN Learning Platform are confidential and proprietary to SCHN.

e. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content without obtaining prior written permission.

f. You will not use the platform in any way that violates any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

g. Unlawful, offensive, harassing, threatening, or harmful behaviour towards others is strictly prohibited.

h. Uploading, posting, or transmitting infringing, defamatory, obscene, or rights-violating content is prohibited.

  1. Payment and Refunds

a. Some courses or services on the platform may require payment.

b. You agree to pay all fees or charges in connection with your use of such courses or services.

c. All payments made on the platform are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in our refund policy.

  1. Intellectual Property Rights

a. All content available on the platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, and software, is the property of SCHN or its partners.

b. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or display any content without obtaining prior written permission.

  1. Disclaimer of Warranties

a. The platform and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties or representations, express or implied.

b. The learning platform does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of any content on the platform.

c. Participants acknowledge that the platform's content is for educational purposes only and should not substitute professional advice.

d. The platform may experience interruptions, delays, or errors, and the online learning platform does not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free access to the platform.

  1. Limitation of Liability

a. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCHN and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, or agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the learning platform.

b. SCHN's total liability, regardless of the cause of action, shall be limited to the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the platform or using its services.

  1. Termination

a. SCHN may suspend or terminate your access to the learning platform at any time, with or without cause and without prior notice.

b. Upon termination, you will no longer have access to your account or any associated data or content.

  1. Governing Law

a. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the learning platform operates.

b. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

  1. Modifications

a. SCHN reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

b. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.

By accessing or using the SCHN learning platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

Child Health Advocacy Network Subscription

Alumni Subscription

The Sydney Child Health Program (SCHP) offers a subscription service exclusively for learners who have successfully completed the following programs (referred to as "eligible programs") to provide continuous access to paediatric education at an annual rate. In these Terms of Use, the term "you" pertains to the learner who has registered an account on the SCHN Learning Platform and whose payment method is billed.

Eligible Programs

Learners who have successfully completed any of the following programs will be eligible to subscribe to the Child Health Advocacy Network Service:

  • The Sydney Child Health Program (2017-2023)
  • The Diploma in Child Health (2017 or earlier)
  • The Graduate Diploma in Child Health (2023 or later)
  • The International Paediatric Postgraduate Certificate

Payments

As a member, you will be billed annually on the anniversary of your sign-up date. All pricing is stated in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Refunds and Cancellations

We are committed to providing quality service to our alumni subscribers. In the event that you encounter issues related to billing or are dissatisfied with our service, please review our refund and cancellation policy below:

Cancellation

You have the freedom to cancel your subscription at any time. Your cancellation will be effective at the conclusion of the current subscription term.

Refunds

  • Subscription Refunds: We offer a full refund for your current subscription term if you request it within 14 days of the initial purchase or renewal date. After 14 days, no refunds will be issued for the current subscription term.
  • Auto-Renewal Refunds: Subscriptions are set to auto-renewal by default, however you can cancel your subscription at anytime. To receive a refund for a subscription that has auto-renewed without your consent, please contact our support team within 14 days of the auto-renewal date. No refunds will be provided for auto-renewals beyond this 14-day period.
  • Billing Disputes and Issues: If you believe there is an error or discrepancy in your billing statement or have questions about a charge related to your SCHP alumni subscription, please follow these steps to address the issue:
    • a. Review Your Account: First, log in to your SCHP account to review your subscription and billing history. Ensure that the charges align with your subscription plan and usage.
    • b. Contact Support: If you identify an issue or discrepancy, please contact our customer support team at service@schp.org.au. Provide relevant details about the billing issue, such as the date of the charge, the amount, and a description of the problem.
    • c. Resolution: Our support team will investigate the issue promptly and work with you to resolve any billing disputes or problems to the best of our ability. If a refund is warranted under our refund policy, we will process it in accordance with the terms outlined above.
  • Please note that any refunds will be issued following SCHN’s refund process and funds will be returned to a nominated bank account. We cannot refund to the credit card used for the subscription. Refunds may take some time for the refund to reflect on your billing statement, depending on your financial institution's policies.

Changes to Price and Subscription Plans

We retain the right to make modifications to our subscription plans and pricing for our service, or any of its components, at our sole and absolute discretion. Unless otherwise explicitly mentioned in these Terms, any alterations to pricing or changes to your subscription plan will be implemented following prior notification to you.
