KidsResus Paediatric Life Support

About KidsResus

The KidsResus Education and Training Program is designed to enhance the learning of healthcare professionals by providing them with the skills and knowledge to safely care for a paediatric patient who has suffered a critical event. The healthcare professionals who complete this training will gain not only Paediatric Life Support skills but skills and knowledge to be able to maintain and sustain post resuscitation care.

The KidsResus Education and Training program is guided by the Australian Resuscitation Council. The information contained within this program had been gained from the current ANZCOR Guidelines 12.1 through to Guideline 12.5 inclusive. The eLearning component explores each letter of the Resuscitation algorithm of DRSABCD with an expansion into Exposure, Fluids and Glucose as this is uniquely paediatric. The eLearning allows each participant to comprehensively learn the knowledge and skills required for Paediatric Life Support. This training is designed to be completed prior to the participant attending the practical simulation component of the program.

The Simulation course of the program offers skill based learning and practical simulation scenarios depicting real life events. The simulations allow the participants to practice the skills acquired from completing the eLearning.
